मूंज के बारे में:
मुञ्ज, मुञ्जातक, वाण, स्थूलदर्भ, और सुमेखल—ये मूंज के पर्यायवाची नाम हैं।
दोनों प्रकार की मूंज स्वाद में मधुर (मीठी) और कषाय (कसैली), तथा तासीर में शीत (ठंडी) होती है।यह दाह (जलन), तृष्णा (प्यास), विसर्प (फैलने वाले चर्म रोग), आम (शरीर के विषैले तत्व), मूत्रकृच्छ्र (पेशाब में कठिनाई या रुकावट) और आँखों के रोगों को नष्ट करने वाली है। यह तीनों दोषों (वात, पित्त, कफ) का नाश करने वाली, वृष्य (बलवीर्यवर्धक) है ।

Both varieties of Moonj grass are sweet and astringent in taste, and cold in potency . It cures burning sensations, excessive thirst, erysipelas (spreading skin diseases), metabolic toxins , dysuria (difficulty in urination), and various eye diseases.It pacifies all three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), acts as an aphrodisiac/strengthening agent.
