सफेद और लाल एरण्ड (अरंडी) के बारे में:
सफेद अरंडी के नाम: शुक्ल एरण्ड, आमण्ड, चित्र, गन्धर्वहस्तक, पञ्चांगुल (पांच उंगलियों जैसे पत्ते वाला), वर्द्धमान, दीर्घदण्ड, व्यदण्डक, वातारि, तरुण, और रुबूक कहे जाते हैं।
लाल अरंडी के नाम: दूसरी लाल अरंडी है जिसे रुबूक, उरुबूक, रूबू, व्याघ्रपुच्छ, वातारि, चञ्चु और उत्तानपत्रक कहा जाता है।
दोनों प्रकार की अरंडी के गुण: दोनों प्रकार की अरंडी स्वाद में मधुर , तासीर में गर्म और पचने में भारी होती है।
रोग निवारण: यह दर्द, सूजन, कमर , बस्ति और सिर की पीड़ा, पेट के रोग, बुखार, अण्डकोष वृद्धि , दमा, कफ, पेट फूलना, खांसी, कुष्ठ रोग और गठिया/संधिवात का नाश करती है।
अरंडी के पत्तों के गुण: अरंडी का पत्ता वातनाशक, तथा कफ और कीड़ों का नाश करने वाला है। यह पेशाब में जलन/रुकावट को दूर करता है, परन्तु पित्त और रक्त को प्रकुपित करने वाला बढ़ाने वाला है
अरंडी की कोपल (मुलायम पत्ते) के गुण: वायु का गोला और मूत्राशय के दर्द को हरने में सर्वश्रेष्ठ है। यह कफ, वात और कृमियों को नष्ट करती है तथा सात प्रकार की वृद्धि (अण्डकोष/आंत्र वृद्धि आदि) का नाश करती है।
अरंडी के फल के गुण: अरंडी का फल अत्यंत गर्म होता है, और यह गुल्म, दर्द और वात को दूर करता है। यह लिवर, तिल्ली, उदर रोग और बवासीर का नाशक है। यह स्वाद में तीखा और जठराग्नि बढ़ाने वाला है।
बीज की गिरी: मल को तोड़ने वाली/तीव्र दस्तावर होती है और वात, कफ तथा उदर रोगों का नाश करती है।
About White and Red Eranda (Castor Plant):
Synonyms of White Castor: Shukla Eranda, Amanda, Chitra, Gandharvahastaka, Panchangula (having five-lobed leaves), Vardhamana, Dirghadanda, Vyadandaka, Vatari, Taruna, and Rubuka.
Synonyms of Red Castor: The other variety is the red castor, known as Rubuka, Urubuka, Rubu, Vyaghrapuchchha, Vatari, Chanchu, and Uttanapatraka.
Properties of Both Types: Both varieties of the Castor plant are sweet in taste, hot in potency and heavy to digest .
Indications: They cure colic pain ,edema/swelling , pain in the lower back , bladder , and head , abdominal diseases, fever, hydrocele , asthma , Kapha dosha, abdominal distension , cough (Kasa), skin diseases/leprosy , and rheumatoid arthritis .
Properties of Castor Leaves: Castor leaves pacify Vata and destroy Kapha and worms/parasites. They cure dysuria (difficulty in urination) but aggravate Pitta and Rakta (blood) doshas.
Properties of Tender Leaves (Agrdala): The tender leaves of Castor are excellent in curing abdominal pain and bladder pain . They destroy Kapha, Vata, worms, and all seven types of Vriddhi (scrotal/inguinal enlargements like hernia).
Properties of Castor Fruit: The castor fruit is excessively hot in potency . It cures abdominal tumors, colic pain, and Vata disorders. It destroys liver disorders , splenic enlargement , abdominal diseases, and hemorrhoids . It is pungent in taste and acts as an excellent appetizer.
Properties of Castor Seed Kernel:- Its kernel acts as a strong purgative/fecal mass breaker and effectively cures Vata, Kapha, and abdominal diseases.
