चक्रमर्द (चकवड़ / पवाड़) के बारे में:
पर्यायवाची: चक्रमर्द, प्रपुन्नाट, दद्रुघ्न (दाद को नष्ट करने वाला), मेषलोचन, पद्माट, एडगज, चक्री और पुन्नाट—ये चकवड़ के पर्यायवाची नाम हैं।
शाक (पौधे) के गुण- चक्रमर्द पचने में हल्का , स्वाद में मीठा और स्वभाव से रूखा होता है। यह पित्त और वात दोषों को दूर करने वाला है।
रोग निवारण: यह हृदय के लिए हितकारी और तासीर में शीतल होता है। यह कफ, श्वास (दमा), चर्म रोग, दाद और कीड़ों का नाश करता है।
फल (बीज) के गुण- इसके फल (बीज) तासीर में गर्म और स्वाद में कटु होते हैं। ये त्वचा रोग, खुजली, दाद, जहर और वात दोष को नष्ट करते हैं। इसके बीजों को गुल्म (पेट का गोला), खांसी, कृमि और दमा का नाश करने वाला माना गया है।

Properties of the Fruit (Seeds):- Its fruit (seeds) is hot in potency (*Ushna*) and pungent . It destroys skin diseases , itching , ringworm , poison and Vata dosha .It is well-known for curing abdominal pain cough , worms and asthma .
