अब अस्थिसंहारक [हडजोड़ / हडसंधारी] के विषय में:
नाम एवं पर्याय: ग्रन्थिमान (गांठों वाला), अस्थिसंहारी (हड्डियों को जोड़ने वाला), वज्रांगी (वज्र के समान कठोर अंगों वाला) और अस्थिशृंखला (हड्डियों की जंजीर जैसी आकृति वाला) - ये इसके विभिन्न नाम हैं।
गुण और प्रभाव: हडजोड़ वात और कफ (दोषों को नष्ट करने वाला तथा टूटी हुई हड्डियों को जोड़ने वाला कहा गया है। यह तासीर में गर्म , मल को सरकाने वाला , रूखा , स्वाद में मधुर और पचने में हल्का होता है।
कर्म (कार्य): यह बल/वीर्य बढ़ाने वाला , पाचन शक्ति को मजबूत करने वाला और पित्त दोष को बढ़ाने वाला माना गया है।
रोगनाशक क्षमता: यह पेट के कीड़ों को मारने वाला , बवासीर को नष्ट करने वाला और आँखों के रोगों को दूर करने वाला है।
विशेष प्रयोग (वातनाशक वटक/बड़ा): हडजोड़ के छिलके रहित तने को आधा माशा (वजन की एक इकाई) लें और बिना छिलके वाली उड़द की दाल उससे आधी मात्रा में लें। इन दोनों को एक साथ पीसकर तिल के तेल में पकाकर (तलकर) बनाया गया बड़ा/Vada वात रोगों का अत्यधिक नाश करने वाला होता है।

Synonyms: It is known by the names Granthiman (having nodes/joints), Asthisamhari (bone-healer/joiner), Vajrangi (having a tough, diamond-like body), and Asthishrinkhala (resembling a chain of bones).
Properties: It is hot in potency , promotes bowel movement (laxative), dry in nature , sweet in taste , and light to digest .
Actions: Hatjod is highly acclaimed for successfully pacifying the Vata and Kapha doshas, and it effectively unites and heals fractured bones . It acts as an aphrodisiac or strengthening tonic , stimulates digestion , and increases the Pitta dosha .
Therapeutic Indications: It effectively destroys intestinal worms/parasites , cures hemorrhoids/piles , and successfully treats eye diseases .
Special Anti-Vata Formulation: Take the stem of Hatjod devoid of its outer skin (measuring half a masha) and skinless black gram/urad dal (measuring half of that quantity). Grind them together well, and then deep fry this paste in sesame oil to prepare a Vataka (a type of fritter or Vada). Consuming this preparation is exceptionally effective in eradicating Vata disorders.
