अब इन्द्रयव [इन्द्रजौ] के विषय में:
नाम एवं पर्याय: कुटज (कूड़े) के बीजों को यव और इन्द्रयव कहा गया है। कलिंग, कालिंग और भद्रयव भी इसके अन्य नाम हैं। ऐसा भगवान धन्वन्तरि ने कहा है। अमरकोश में भी उल्लेख है कि कहीं-कहीं इन्द्र का नाम ही इसका बोधक (पर्याय) होता है। इसके फलों (बीजों) को इन्द्रयव तथा भद्रयव कहा जाता है।
गुण और प्रभाव: इन्द्रयव तीनों दोषों (वात, पित्त, कफ) को नष्ट करने वाला , मल को बांधने वाला/ग्राही (संग्राहि), स्वाद में तीखा और तासीर में शीतल होता है। यह जठराग्नि को प्रदीप्त करने वाला है।
रोगनाशक क्षमता (उपयोग): यह बुखार, अतिसार , खूनी बवासीर , उल्टी, विसर्प (फैलने वाला चर्म रोग/हर्पीज) और कुष्ठ को नष्ट करता है। यह गुदकील (बवासीर के मस्सों), रक्त विकारों , वातरक्त (गाउट), कफ और पेट दर्द/ऐंठन को जीतने वाला होता है।

Synonyms: The seeds of Kutaja are referred to as Yava and Indrayava. They are also known as Kalinga, Kaalinga, and Bhadrayava. This has been stated by Lord Dhanvantari. The Amarakosha (classical Sanskrit thesaurus) also mentions that sometimes the very name of Lord Indra acts as its designator. Its fruits (seeds) are known as Indrayava and Bhadrayava.
