नाम एवं पर्याय: यूथिका, गणिका और अम्बष्ठा—ये इसके नाम हैं। इसकी जो पीली प्रजाति (पीले फूलों वाली जूही) होती है, उसे 'हेमपुष्पिका' कहा जाता है।
गुण और प्रभाव: दोनों प्रकार की जूही (सफेद और पीली) तासीर में ठंडी , स्वाद में कड़वी , पचने के बाद कटु विपाक वाली (कटु पाकरसं) और पचने में हल्की होती हैं।
कर्म और दोष प्रभाव: ये स्वाद में मीठी और कसैली (भी होती हैं। ये हृदय के लिए हितकारी या प्रिय और पित्त दोष को नष्ट करने वाली) होती हैं। हालाँकि, ये शरीर में कफ और वात दोष को बढ़ाने वाली होती हैं।
रोगनाशक क्षमता (उपयोग): ये घाव , रक्त विकारों मुख, दांत, आंख और सिर के रोगों, तथा विष को पूरी तरह नष्ट करने वाली होती हैं।

Synonyms: It is known by the names Yuthika, Ganika, and Ambashtha. Its yellow-flowered variety is specifically called Hemapushpika.
Properties: Both varieties of Juhi (Yuthiyugam) are cold in potency , bitter in taste , yield a pungent effect after digestion and are light to digest .
Actions and Dosha Effect: They are also sweet and astringent / They act as a cardiac tonic and successfully pacify the Pitta dosha . However, they aggravate or increase the Kapha and Vata doshas .
Therapeutic Indications: They are highly effective in curing wounds/ulcers , blood-related disorders , diseases of the mouth teeth eyes and head/headaches and they act as an antidote to poisoning .
