नीम के सामान्य गुण (छाल/पंचांग):
नीम तासीर में शीत (ठंडा), पचने में लघु (हल्का), ग्राही (मल को बांधने वाला), और कटु विपाक (पचने के बाद तीखा प्रभाव देने वाला) होता है। यह जठराग्नि (पाचन अग्नि) और वात को कम करता है। यह अहृद्य (हृदय के लिए अधिक प्रिय नहीं) है। यह थकान, अत्यधिक प्यास, खांसी, बुखार , अरुचि (भूख न लगना) और कृमि (पेट के कीड़ों) का नाश करता है। इसके अलावा, यह घाव, पित्त, कफ, उल्टी, कुष्ठ (त्वचा रोग), जी मिचलाना और प्रमेह (मूत्र रोग/मधुमेह) को दूर करता है।
नीम के पत्तों के गुण:
नीम के पत्ते आंखों के लिए हितकर (नेत्र्य) माने गए हैं। ये कृमि, पित्त दोष और जहर का नाश करते हैं। ये वातवर्धक (वात को बढ़ाने वाले), कटु विपाक वाले, तथा सभी प्रकार की अरुचि और कुष्ठ रोगों को नष्ट करने वाले होते हैं।
नीम के फल (निंबोली) के गुण:
नीम का फल स्वाद (रस) में कड़वा (तिक्त) और पचने के बाद (विपाक में) कटु होता है। यह भेदन (मल को तोड़ने वाला/पेट साफ करने वाला) होता है। यह स्निग्ध (चिकना), लघु (हल्का), उष्ण (गर्म तासीर वाला), त्वचा रोगों को दूर करने वाला है, तथा गुल्म (पेट का गोला/ट्यूमर), अर्श (बवासीर), कृमि और प्रमेह (मूत्र विकार) का नाश करता है।

General Properties of Neem (Bark/Whole Plant):
Neem is cold in potency , light to digest, absorbent/astringent, and has pungent post-digestive effect. It subdues the digestive fire and Vata dosha. It is Ahridya (not beneficial/pleasing for the heart). It cures fatigue, excessive thirst, cough, fever, anorexia, and worm infestation. Furthermore, it cures wounds/ulcers, vitiated Pitta and Kapha, vomiting, skin diseases, nausea, and Meha (urinary disorders).
