सफेद फूल वाले प्रकार (सिन्दुवार) के नाम:
सिन्दुवार, श्वेतपुष्प, सिन्दुक और सिन्दुवारक।
नीले फूल वाले प्रकार (निर्गुण्डी) के नाम:
नीले फूल वाली प्रजाति को निर्गुण्डी, शेफाली और सुवहा कहा जाता है।
सामान्य गुण: सिन्दुक याददाश्त बढ़ाने वाला, स्वाद में कड़वा , कसैला , तीखा और पचने में हल्का होता है।
चिकित्सीय प्रभाव: यह बालों के लिए हितकर और आंखों के लिए लाभकारी है। यह शूल (दर्द), शोथ (सूजन), आम (अपचित रस/टॉक्सिन) और वात विकारों का नाश करता है।
