नागवल्ली (पान) के पर्यायवाची:
ताम्बूलवल्ली, ताम्बूली, नागिनी और नागवल्लरी—ये पान के नाम (पर्याय) हैं।
सामान्य गुण: पान मुख को स्वच्छ करने वाला , रुच्य (स्वादिष्ट/भूख बढ़ाने वाला), तीक्ष्ण (तेज प्रभाव वाला), उष्ण (गर्म तासीर वाला), तुवर (कसैला), और सर (मल को आगे धकेलने वाला / हल्का रेचक) होता है।
विशिष्ट प्रभाव: यह कामोद्दीपक , स्वाद में तिक्त (कड़वा), कटु (तीखा) और क्षारीय होता है। यह पचने में लघु (हल्का) होता है, परंतु अपनी गर्म तासीर के कारण (अधिक मात्रा में) यह रक्तपित्त (रक्तस्राव वाले विकारों) को उत्पन्न करने वाला होता है।

General Qualities: Tambula (Betel leaf) is cleansing/clears the mouth , appetizing, penetrating/sharp, hot in potency, ,astringent and promotes bowel movement/laxative.
