गुण और विशेषताएं: अरिष्टक (रीठा) मंगलकारी (माङ्गल्य), काले रंग का (कृष्णवर्ण), और कार्यों को सिद्ध करने वाला (अर्थसाधन) होता है।
स्वरूप व प्रभाव: इसके बीज लाल रंग के (रक्तबीज) होते हैं। यह पीले रंग का झाग देने वाला (पीतफेन), अत्यधिक झागदार (फेनिल) और गर्भपात कराने वाला (गर्भपातन) होता है।
औषधीय कर्म: रीठा तीनों दोषों (वात, पित्त और कफ) का नाश करने वाला , ग्रहों (बुरी शक्तियों या बाधाओं) को दूर करने वाला (ग्रहघ्न) और गर्भ को गिराने वाला (गर्भपातन) होता है।
