शिरीष
अब शिरीष (सिरस) के विषय में:
शिरीष, भण्डिल, भण्डी, भण्डीर, कपीतन, शुकपुष्प, शुकतरु, मृदुपुष्प और शुकप्रिय—ये सभी शिरीष के संस्कृत पर्यायवाची नाम हैं।
शिरीष रस में मधुर , तिक्त (कड़वा) और कसैला होता है। यह अनुष्ण (न अधिक गर्म, न अधिक ठंडा तासीर वाला) तथा पचने में हल्का होता है।
यह त्रिदोष (वात, पित्त, कफ), शोथ (सूजन) और विसर्प (तेजी से फैलने वाले चर्म रोग) को नष्ट करने वाला है। इसके अलावा, यह कास (खांसी), व्रण (घाव) और विष (जहर/टॉक्सिन्स) को दूर करने में अत्यंत लाभकारी है।

Now regarding Shirisha [Siras]:
Bhandila, Bhandi, Bhandira, Kapitana, Shukapushpa, Shukataru, Mridupushpa, and Shukapriya are the synonymous names of Shirisha.
Shirisha is sweet , bitter , and astringent in taste. It is neither too hot nor too cold in potency and is light to digest .
It pacifies the all three doshas and cures edema/inflammation and erysipelas/spreading skin diseases . Furthermore, it is highly effective in treating cough , ulcers/wounds and acts as a potent anti-toxic agent that destroys poisons .
