तुलसी
अब तुलसी (शुक्ला और कृष्णा) के विषय में:
तुलसी, सुरसा, ग्राम्या, सुल्भा, बहुमंजरी, अपेतराक्षसी, गौरी, शूलघ्नी और देवदुन्दुभि—ये सभी तुलसी के संस्कृत पर्यायवाची नाम हैं।
तुलसी स्वाद में कटु (तीखी) और तिक्त (कड़वी) होती है। यह हृद्य (हृदय के लिए हितकारी) और उष्ण (गर्म तासीर वाली) है; तथा दाह (जलन) और पित्त को बढ़ाने वाली (पित्तकृत्) है।
यह दीपिनी (जठराग्नि को प्रदीप्त करने वाली), कुष्ठ (चर्म रोग), कृच्छ्र (मूत्रकृच्छ्र आदि कठिन रोग), अस्र (रक्त विकार), पार्श्वरुक् (पसली का दर्द), तथा कफ और वात दोषों का नाश करने वाली है।
शुक्ला (सफेद) और कृष्णा (काली)—दोनों प्रकार की तुलसी गुण में एक समान कही गई हैं।
TULASI
Now regarding Tulasi [White and Black Holy Basil]:
Tulasi, Surasa, Gramya, Sulabha, Bahumanjari, Apetarakshasi, Gouri, Shulaghni, and Devadundubhi are the synonymous names of Tulasi.
Tulasi is pungent and bitter in taste. It is beneficial for the heart , hot in potency and aggravates burning sensations and pitta dosha .
It stimulates the digestive fire and cures skin diseases , difficult conditions/dysuria , blood disorders , flank/side pain and pacifies kapha and vata doshas.
Both Shukla (white) and Krishna (black) varieties of Tulasi are stated to be equal in their medicinal properties .
